By using Compety you accept these terms. If you disagree with any of them, do not use the app.

1. Who provides the service

Compety is developed by Manuel Parraga, an individual based in Spain, trading as Pizco Deploy. Contact: pizcodeploy@gmail.com.

2. What the app does

Compety reads physical activity data from the Health app on your iPhone, calculates an effort score per session, and compares it with other people inside private leagues you join with an invitation code.

The purpose is to encourage physical activity through friendly competition.

3. Compety is not a healthcare service

Compety is a sports and motivation app. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose, prevent or treat any condition, and it does not replace the judgement of a health professional.

Specifically, the app does none of the following:

If you have any doubt about your health, or before starting an exercise programme, consult a health professional. You train at your own risk.

4. The numbers you see are approximations

Scores are calculated from data generated by third-party trackers, watches and apps, and those devices have known margins of error. Optical heart rate sensors lose accuracy as exercise intensity rises, and each brand measures differently.

For that reason:

The score is an indicative measure of effort, not a clinical measurement.

5. Your account

6. Leagues and conduct

7. Price

Compety is free as of the publication of these terms.

Paid subscription features may be introduced in future. If that happens, it will be announced in the app in advance, terms and pricing will be shown before any charge, and no subscription will start without your explicit confirmation. Payments would be handled through Apple's in-app purchase system, subject to its own billing and refund terms.

8. Service availability

Compety is provided as is, with no guarantee of uninterrupted operation. The service depends on third parties outside our control, including Apple, device manufacturers and the apps that write into the Health app. Any of them may change or withdraw their integration.

Data sync is not instantaneous. iOS decides when an app may wake in the background, so standings can lag behind a recent session. Compety does not promise real-time updates.

We may modify, suspend or discontinue the service. If discontinuation were permanent, reasonable notice would be given so you can keep your data.

9. Intellectual property

The Compety name, its design, its interface and its scoring system belong to the developer. Your physical activity data belongs to you.

Part of the app source code is published in a public repository for transparency. That publication grants no licence to use, copy, modify or redistribute beyond what the licence included in the repository expressly states.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for injuries arising from sports practice, for decisions you make based on the figures shown, for the accuracy of data generated by third-party devices, or for data loss caused by external services.

None of the above limits the rights granted to you as a consumer under applicable law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. As a consumer, you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.

12. Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, notice will be given inside the app before the change takes effect. The last update date appears at the top.
